PUNB loan RM195j driving range pass

Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) aiming to approve funding of RM195 million this year.

Chairman Khairy Jamaluddin said the amount could finance more than 620 entrepreneurs through four schemes, i.e. Schemes PROSPER, PROSPER Retail Wholesale, small and medium Entrepreneurs and Young Entrepreneurs scheme of PROSPER (PUMA) with financing deals between RM5, 000 to RM5 million.

Last year, PUNB loan valued at 166.78 million to 539 people, he told reporters after the prize presentation ceremony for the winners of the challenge Business Plan PUNB 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.

Khairy said, attention will be given to young people in particular the scheme to promote entrepreneurial culture PUMA among generations.

"We will work with institutions of higher learning and entrepreneurs to expose students to entrepreneurship as a career more attractive," he said.

He said the problem of perception such as application conditions too difficult will also be given attention by PUNB.
"Many entrepreneurs think hard to get funding while we do not like the bank requires security for a loan.

No passive

To this end, Khairy said PUNB is not taking a passive approach to waiting for funding but always proactively seeking qualified entrepreneurs to get it.
