Toyota noted the highest selling

UMW Toyota Motor, exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus brand in Malaysia recorded the highest sales record last year.

Its President, Datuk Sahibul Suki, says the company shut down the 2012 with sales records its highest level of 106600 unit with 1500 units is from sales of Lexus models.

He said the sales represented a 17 per cent market share in a challenging market environment.

"Our top two models in terms of sales is Vios and Hilux each represent 30 and 27 percent overall sales last year.

Challenging year

"Although many products launched last year, we expect this year will be another challenging year for the company," he said at the celebration of media in Kuala Lumpur recently.

In 2011, UMW Toyota Motor just sell 86951 units model Toyota and Lexus models with unit 1711 problem supply chain disruption following the flooding in Thailand and tsunami in Japan.
UMW Toyota Motor has 92 sales and after-sales branches throughout the country.

UMW Toyota Motor aiming to upgrade almost all its facilities into a retail, service and spare parts (3S) fully before the end of the year.

The move aims to improve sales and after-sales facilities to cater to the increasing number of Toyota vehicles in the country.

Meanwhile, Sahibul says co-operation between States to the entire media organisations need to be upgraded as part of his initiative to maintain its market leadership in the automotive industry.

"Build a relationship with the media has always been agendas in UMW Toyota Motor.

"We always recognises the importance of the media as a link to the public and customers. UMW Toyota appreciates the support and contribution of the media to ensure that our customers and the public have sufficient information to offer products, services and activities related to our community, "he said.

He added, the journey toward success is difficult, but with the support of the media promote and convey information about products, services and corporate messages from the company to the public, making everything easier for him being one of the major automotive companies in the country.

"The investments are planned, UMW Toyota Motor is committed to providing comprehensive service to our customers and expect established itself as the main non-national brands in the country," he said.
